About the Owner

Hello! My name is Chad Humphrey. I can proudly say that Humphrey Plumbing Heating and Air has been in business for 15 years now! I am from Utah and have lived here my entire life. Hard work ethic and the importance of a business reputation was instilled in me at a young age. In high school, I was quite eager to start my own company and I started a landscaping business. This was a successful business venture for me but after a few years I wanted to expand my knowledge and skill set in an industry that I found myself more passionate about, where I could also assist local families.

My interest in fixing and building things landed me a job opportunity with a friend in the HVAC industry. Back in the year 2000, I started from the bottom, but there was never an area of the HVAC industry I wasn’t interested in exploring and mastering. I accepted positions at several heating and air companies in the SLC metro area over the next few years. Through time and experience I soon came to realize that lots of these companies had cases of unethical practices. I wanted to be with a company that shared my values and ethics.

With my previous experience running a business, this sparked my interest in running my very own heating and air-conditioning company. My goal was and still is, to provide quality equipment and a better service to my customers at a fraction of the cost.

In November of 2005 I realized there was a great need for a trustworthy, ethical, quality air conditioning and heating company in Utah, so I decided to open my own business. I quit my job and started running my own company from the back of my truck. I made it my mission to provide quality and affordable options to my Northern Utah customers. Sooner than expected I began raking in more business than I could handle. I teamed up with two of the best experts in the industry and asked them to work with me and from 2006-2008 we dominated the industry in Bountiful, UT together.

In 2009, the national economy spiraled down and of course Utah was not immune to its effects. Though I was greatly concerned with how this could harm my business, I was able to rise above it by my reputation for providing a superior level of customer service at an honest rate. Companies with unsound business practices I worked for in the past had failed when the Great Recession hit Utah. I felt accomplished and proud of the company I had created. My hard and honest work was really paying off. I was introduced to Angie’s List and I loved it, because not only did it give the chance for customers to review our services, but I was able to really listen and understand what they liked about our work. Angie’s List was perfect for showing future customers what we are all about. In just months of joining we earned a “Super Service Award” and every year following. Things were going smoothly, we did have some minor setbacks due to the equipment we were installing but we were happy to replace units for our customers as we found a better business to purchase our products from, we switched to Amana products and can now comfortably say we stand behind our installations without fear and our warranties are unmatched in the business.

From 2012-2014 I was responsible for completing repairs, tune-ups, and installations while still answering the phones. This was overwhelming and I decided I’d rent an office building in Bountiful, I hired a secretary, a website developing company, doubled our team of technicians and installers. My new and revamped crew of employees helped us begin to provide an optimum level of satisfaction to our customers. We are able to project and help expand the success of my company vision together.

In 2016 I wanted to branch out and stretch my list of services, I strongly believed and still do, that plumbing is an area of expertise I wanted my company to be a part of. Not to mention the fact that honest hard working master plumbers are always in high demand.

In 2017 we were able to add plumbing to our list of expert services.

Since 2005, I can proudly say that I’ve always been honest with my clients, I’ve given them great prices and I’ve done it with exceptional craftsmanship. I am certified with the Rocky Mountain Gas Association, hold a license with the EPA for the handling and processing of refrigerants, am Better Business Bureau accredited and I am fully licensed and insured. We employ a certified Master Plumber as well. At Humphrey Plumbing Heating and Air, we strive to be your trusted partner in plumbing and HVAC service. I know that I can save you money, offer you a great product and help you feel more comfortable in your home.

Thank you,

Chad Humphrey
